What is a Website Certificate for?

With the Website Certificate service you will be able to certify the content of any public website on the Internet.

What is the certification process like?

The process is very simple, you just have to indicate the URL of the content you want to certify. In addition, if the site page contains cookie notices or newsletters, you will be able to close it down so it does not appear on the certificate. You can also scroll down the page to find a particular section of the website which interests you and select this to show on your certificate. Here’s an example:

What is in the certificate?

Once the certification process is complete, the system will automatically generate your certificate so you can download it from your private area.
Your certificate will be in a PDF format along with other files with technical data (metadata) which are delivered in a ZIP file:

PDF certificate

It is the PDF file where you will find all the information related to your certification. Contains:

Email of the user requesting the certificate.
Date of certification.
URL subject to certification.
Unique identifier of the certificate.
Hashes (SHA256) of the software used by SaveTheProof.
IP of the SaveTheProof server from which the navigation was generated.
Virtual browser version.
Hasht (MD5) of the metadata file associated with the certificate.
Screenshot (maximum 10,000px) of the content of the website under certification.

The PDF file is electronically signed by an advanced electronic signature with a qualified time stamp. You can learn more about this in the legal validity section:

This ZIP file (whose MD5) is indicated in the PDF certificate contains:

browser.version: Text file with virtual browser version.
network.har: Har file with network traffic generated during navigation (More info on how to view such files in: https://savetheproof.com/en/har-viewer/)
network.har.tsq: File in TSQ format with the time stamping request from the network.har file
network.har.tsr: File in TSR format with the time stamping response of the network.har file
